Calling all New England, Northeast, Eastern Canada, and Maritime Provinces Riders (or anyone who wants to travel this way). You're all invited:

"First Annual Uncle Woody's Meet and Greet Charity Ride"

Just another excuse to get a bunch of RG.Org members together for some great riding and some good ol' biker comraderie - Road Glide style! (Or it's GMAN and I feeling sorry for ourselves that we didn't get a lot of time to socialize during SW4 so we get another chance now!)

Dates - Friday August 28th thru Sunday 30th

Place - Town and Country Motor Inn - Rte. 2 Shelburne (Gorham), NH.
25 rooms have been blocked with more available if we need it.
Special Rate of $89. + tax for single or couple - just ask for "Uncle Woody's Charity Ride" rate.

Official Events - None

Event Registration - None (However you'll need to make reservations for the hotel by Aug. 15th. to be guaranteed the rate and room availability)

Event T-Shirts - None (However we still have some leftover shirts/caps etc. from SW4 The Insane in Maine Tour" that's we're going start offering at 50% discount, PM me with your requests.)

Event Ball caps - None

Event Plaques - None

Event Pins - None

Event Stickers/Decals - None

Official Organized Day Rides - None (Get together with friends and plan your own.)

Bike Show - Not a chance!

Babysitters - None

All meals on your own. Check online for dining in Berlin, or Gorham, NH and Bethel, ME. and Sunday River Ski Resort. There's everything from Sushi to Lobster, to Pizza, and good barbeque within 30 minutes of the Inn. Plus, if you were at SW4 you already know that the T&C puts out terrific food with the bakery items being made right on premises.

What YOU WILL GET is a couple of days of wonderful riding through the Notches and mountain passes of NH and Western Maine. Put together your own waterfall tour; or a covered bridge tour (there are several you can get to within 90 minutes of the Inn; take the "Road to the Sky" and ride up Mt. Washington (On a clear day you'll think you're looking at half the world stretched out below you); check out the shopping opportunities in No. Conway; take a gondola ride to the top of one of the famous ski areas; ride to Portland and the coast in 90 minutes.

You'll also have the opportunity to spend a couple days with some old RG.org friends and likely meet some new ones. When we park the bikes in the late afternoon or evening is when the fun really begins. What Uncle Woody calls, "Beer and Bullshit Time!" We very much encourage you to bring your girlfriend, fiancee, wife, or mistress. Or vice-versa for you gals.

The "Charity" part ..... We will "pass the helmet" at some point in the weekend and all donations collected will be given to a no-kill animal shelter.

Look forward to seeing you in NH in August!

Make your reservations starting Monday 7/13. 1-800-325-4386 (www.townandcountryinn.com) UPDATE - T&C called, they're set to take reservations as of Saturday a.m.

Please send me a PM when you've made your hotel reservation so that we have some idea of how many of you to expect.

"Mike" and Sue are planning on being there, and "Dreamrider" (Peter/Nat) are going to try to make it down from across the border. "GMAN" is also gonna be there. Come on New Englanders, let's hear from ya.

I remember the good ol' days when you were FUN! Take care my friend and my regards to your wife/daughter.

Just sayin' that if it were me, I'd convince the wife that she deserves a weekend away, and I'd call Nana/Grampa and arrange for babysitting duty, and make reservations at the T&C and off we'd go. I've found that it's usually not hard to convince the Mrs. that she deserves a night or two away. She wouldn't even know that it's a set-up until you pull in the parking lot and she spies another 25 Fugly Bikes!

But then again, Lax, I'm not sure I'd follow my advice as I'll be single again in 2 weeks (July 28th), so you should probably follow your own instincts! If she doesn't like to ride that much, just show her the pool and an open bar tab on that Saturday while you ride.

OK, we're 5 weeks away as of today, and I've heard from a handful of you, who else is planning on coming to the weekend ride/Meet and Greet? No schedule, no events, just a couple days of some great mountain riding and great camaraderie when we put the kickstands down for the night.

Why don't you take vacations when we have a get together planned? ;)

Would love to have you come ride up here in the north country one of these days. I'm still waiting to meet JTB just to see if he really exists or is just a figment of the RG.org's imagination.

Have placed this on my calendar. Sounds great, love riding up there.

Will depend on work, and how bad I beat up my wallet in Sturgis !

For whatever reasons, mostly because his thoughts and philosophies on many things mirror my own, I always thought JTB and I were kindred souls. He and I have the occassional PM chat. We have to look out for our brother dinosaurs on here. There aren't that many of us left!

Great soundtrack!

I called today to make reservations. To get the special rate they wanted to put me in a room with 2 twin beds. Now that you're single Kevin I know that works for you, but we're still technically newlyweds. I paid the extra $15 a night for a king.

" .... in a room with 2 twin beds. Now that you're single Kevin I know that works for you,"

First of all let me remind you that everyone likes a little ass but no one likes a smart ass!

Did you ask for the Uncle Woody's Ride rate? I sent the owner an email and I'm sure he'll straighten it out. The rate of $89 is good regardless of bed configuration. Probably a new reservation clerk.
