Fullsac header question....

Good morning ,

Ive been looking at upgrading the head pipe on my 15 RG and the fullsac looks and sounds like its a well made piece.
My local stealership happens to have the pipe in stock and is willing to do the install today.
My issue is that they are telling me if i dont have the bike dyno tuned at the same time, the bike will die within 20 miles of riding.
Now ive already done a set of rinehart slip-ons and a Kury mach 1 intake with a cobra power vision tune and the bike runs good.. Now im no idiot but this is my first Harley, ive been riding and working on jap bikes for 20 yrs.
Personally i think the dealership is full of crap and just wants me to do the dyno, but i need someone with more experience with this bike to tell me that a power vision tune is good enough or not to keep the bike running good.

Thanks and any input would be appreciated!

Mike

Enjoy your morning coffee and sit tight a few hours. There's a few guys on here that use that product that will chime in shortly. As far as the dealer, What's he say if you buy the pipe and install it yourself?

I asked that same question and the answer was that i needed to get to a dyno asap or poof! If i buy the pipe from them they will do the install no charge, its a promo they run every now and then. I would pay full price $399 for the pipe and they keep the stock header for the core charge.

If you want the best overall head pipe for the money, it's the Rush headers. They are ceramic coated from the factory which helps with the heat and also the performance. We have tested these pipes on the dyno and they do produce from very good numbers with a good set of mufflers such as Freedom mufflers and also the Rhineharts. Fulsac are great headers too. S&S makes a good head pipe as well. We kind of lean toward the Rush though.

I ended up going with the Rush High Output touring headers and I'm really happy with that decision. The cosmetic finish on the top heat shield left a lot to be desired so I contacted Sam at Rush customer service. She asked for a few pictures and a copy of my sales receipt.

Sent all in and she is sending me a complete new set of all the heat shields to ensure that the coating color match is spot on (I got the black).

Excellent customer service and the bike sounds and runs good.

That dealer has the typical verbal diarrhea I hear of, as for the pipe fullsac or fuel moto are great, a two into one into two will flow better than true duals with crossovers , that is a fact not opinon, its more conducive for building low end torque, good luck.

[QUim OTE=landshark;3353521]Just call Steve George at Fullsac. He's the man and will shoot you straight. I don't agree with the dude above. The Fullsac pipe kicks ass on my glide.[/QUOTE]

I'm not knocking the fullsac pipe maybe you misunderstood me, I am all for it, it's a 2 into 1 into 2, I have the fullsac sportpipe and love it, builds alot of torque low end, true duals are notorious for poor low end torque.

IMHO, running good and getting the most out of a Stage 1 are two different things - It is not the Dyno itself but the man in there doing the work - A good tuner can get more out of a motor than just a loaded map

I have been following your thread man as I am in the same boat - Started with just slips and am now looking to replace the headers and get to the S1 - My dealer charges $375 for (3) hours on the Dyno that is made up of multiple pulls from idle to redline with tuning takin place at every 250 rpm - You just cannot get that out of a "Loaded Map" - The goal of any good dyno tuner (as it has always been explained to me) is to get the exact same numbers on every pull in every situation.......1st get bang....3rd gear roll....1st thru 6th all the way......4 gear roll....etc etc

It really comes down to what you are happy with (good enough) and how you want to drop coin amigo

I bought the DX pipe, and TTS Mastertuner from Steve at Fullsac last year. I have been exceptionally pleased with not only the sound, but the performance of the DX. Steve spends many hours tuning various combinations on his dyno, and in most cases can send you a tune for your exact, or very close Stage1 or Stage2 setup. So far I have found his customer service to be second to none. This week I ordered an Andrews Cam, and S & S Premium lifters from him. Can't wait to install them too.
