Got an email the other day that the long ride shields are now making them for the 2015/16 road glides. Intro pricing is amazing. 79 or 84 depending on the style you choose.

Ordered one, waiting to get it, looks pretty nice from the website.

I will post pictures after I get the new shield and get it installed.

I went with the 14" Stingray. I e-mailed the company and asked what size the shield that is on their website with the guy riding it. They said that was a 14". Took their measurements and compared to what i currently have on mine. the 14" Klock Werks Sport Flare. A member on here measured for me (since mine is still tucked away in the garage) and it sits 4.5" from the top of the vent. Compared to LRS, their 13" sits 5" from the vent, which is a little taller than what I have. Before i saw this shield i was considering the 12" pro touring from Klock Werks, that I was told sits 1" taller than the 14" sport flare of theirs (so guessing the measurement would be 5.5" from vent to top). So I thought about it, and I made the decision to go with the 14". Cant wait to get it installed and for the weather to get nice to be able to take it for a ride.

I am 6'3" I think the 14" KW sport flare came up to about level with my mouth, as they say it should be between your nose and mouth. Just guessing though, but either way, i would get small road debris and an occasional bug hit with the 14" sport flare, so I knew I needed to go a little taller. I think in the end, the 14" will fit me nice and the look will be what I want. Will put updates on as soon as I get the shield installed, as well as after I get the first ride impressions. Couple months at the minimum, hoping April or May.

Here is the site that has the photos. I'm not endorsing them just yet, but for that price, you cant go wrong. :)

I got the 13" Stingray as well. A buddy owed me money for the Xieds i gave him as I got a FP3. I told him about their site and he found that they will take an additional 20 bucks off if you send them a motorcycle license plate. He had two plates and ordered one for me and one for his Street Glide.

Yesterday I ordered the 13" stingray in medium tint and it's shipped already. A lot faster than I expected because the website mentioned it could take up to a week due to order volume. I expected it to take about a week since it's such a great price and they must be shipping a bunch of them. I used a ruler to measure for my shield. My wife held the bottom of it on top of the vent, straight up, and we looked at where my eye level was and went down a couple of inches. It ended up being 5" above vent level which corresponded to the 13" wind shield. Long ride allows you to try the shield if you don't take the protective film off. I'll report back once I get it.

So I got the new shield on Friday. Installed it over the weekend. First impression is good. Looks just right for the size, cant road test it because of the cold, so all i can really go off of is how it fits, how it looks.

So how it looks, I like it.

How it fits, I may have to work on it when it gets warmer. Not sure if its a fitment issue yet but after installing, the ends of the shield doesn't sit snug against the rubber seal, see picture. I have an e-mail out to the company, not sure what they will say, but its not the worst thing, maybe it was designed that way. You can tell either from just looking at it, you have to get very close to see it.

Anyways, I will be interested to see what others get, I am 6'3", be curious if anyone my height goes with a lower shield and how low they can go and still get enough wind protection but not have as high of a shield.

I got my 13" over the weekend. I put it on last night, and rode the glide to work today. It's a huge improvement over stock. I'm 5'10" and I would say that the wind blast is a good 2" above my helmet. With the top vent open, there is no buffeting from the shield. Now I can notice the wind and buffeting coming up from around the gas tank. My stock stereo sounds better as well.

Mine came in on Friday. Yesterday I took pictures of my 12" Windvest before removing it and putting on the Long Ride Stingray. Installed a 13" as per measurement talking with Long Ride. Put me looking right thru the windshield. The top of the Long Ride shield is more upright and further away from the rider. I would suggest when using their measurement guidelines, if you get 5"s with a tape putting it between your nose and mouth, instead of adding 8"s to that measurement as instructed, add 7"s and you should be ok. I even think a 11" Long Ride shield would have been perfect for me. Good luck, I'm sending mine back Monday for my money back or a 11".

I as well ordered both the Stingray and the Thresher for my 15.

Ordered the 10" for both(yeah yeah I'm short)

I will post pics when they get in and hopefully the weather will cooperate and I will be able to do a review soon.

What tint did you guys go with? I'm 6'-3" w 32" inseam (tall from waste up) and I'm lookin at the 13" or 14" haven't decided yet but need to know about tints, I'm somewhat concerned about seeing through it at night, potholes etc. (MI rider) dark or medium?

I went with the 14" medium tint. Haven't ridden it yet, but sat on it and it seems about right. i look over it, i think it looks pretty good too.

When I talked to them I was told to go with the medium tint(I work nights and do quite a bit of night time riding).

The best way to measure is from the top of the vent to eye level then subtract 2". I'm 5'6.5 and went with the 10".

Hope this helps.

My Stingray came in last Friday. Doing the measurements that they gave (talked on the phone while doing it) they said I needed a 13" even though my Windvest was a 12". When it got in, it was way taller than my 12" Windvest. I was looking straight thru it which is no bueno. I'll be returning it today. Their windshield seems to sit more upright than the Windvest too. With the Stingray on the bike and measuring, no more than a 11" would I need to achieve the same as the Windvest. To give you an idea of how it went. I measured up to between my nose and my mouth and got 5"s. Added that to the 8"s as they say and came up with a 13" shield. I'm 6'1" and ride somewhat upright with a back rest. Like I said, I was looking straight thru it and could not see over it at all. Hope this helps.

I went ahead and ordered the 13" in medium tint this morning, I didn't want to wait to long as the price break they have is ending soon. If it's to tall or the tint bothers me I'll do like smarty and exchange it later. I decided that the dark might be a problem at 13" for night riding. We'll see. In the end it involves some amount of guesswork, a lot like seats.

The medium tint is what I went with, still pretty dark but I think with those lights it will be fine. Until it warms up all I can so is dream how it looks. Haha.
