Freedom shield on the way

I just ordered the 10 inch sport touring in dark grey. The wife caught a big juicy bug between the eyes on a ride yesterday, so that helped move a new windshield higher up on the priority list. I based my decision for the Freedom shield on the positive reviews I've seen on here concerning the fit & finish, and the fact that the shield looks good on the bike.

Similar situation happened to me once with my wife on the back except unbeknownst to her, I was spitting into the wind on purpose and she'd catch some in the face. I got a little wet too but it was totally worth it.

You won't be disappointed with the Freedom Shield. I've got the 10" on my 15 and it is night & day difference over the stock shield.

Got the windshield in today.

Sitting comfortably on the bike, the top of the shield hits me about an inch below the nose. The 10 inch sport shield is a huge improvement over stock.

I'm wondering if the 11 inch sport shield would make that big of a difference. I'm probably just going to stick with this one though, it looks really good on the bike.

I'll post up some pics later from some different angles.

If there's any particular angle or measurement anyone wants to see, just let me know.

Foxhound, what is your height and inseam? Can you take a couple pictures of your new shield on the bike and measure from the top of the vent to the top of the shield? Thanks!

I'm 5'7 with shoes on, with a 29-30 inch inseam. I usually wear a 29 inch inseam on dress pants/casual khaki pants and a 30 inch inseam in jeans. Jeans are hard to find in odd inseam sizes and a 30 inch length in jeans doesn't seem to make that much difference. I'll take that measurement from the vent this afternoon.

Measurement from top of vent to top edge of windshield.

Profile pic of windshield.

Also please be honest, is the huge profile pic annoying? I ask because it's starting to annoy me, so i'm sure it annoys others but I don't know how to shrink it down. Thanks

Thanks for the pics.

And to answer your question. Yes, it is a tad large for a signature pic. If you click on the photo it takes you to an online photo editor where you can resize and save. Then all you have to do is upload the newly sized picture to your signature.

I just ordered the 10 inch touring shield during their 20% off sale. I originally was going to order the 11 inch but I definitely wanted the dark shield and although I'm 5'7 / 29 inseam, I also have the seat lowered a bit. Last second before hitting the 'order' button I changed it to the 10 inch. Hopefully it'll be good.

EDIT: A few days after ordering the windshield I received a call from John. Although I had written notes with my order with my measurements, instead of just filling my order and sending the shield, he took the time to go over options with me. He felt, based on all of the information, that the 11 inch would serve me better. I decided to go with that based on his suggestion. Now that is customer service!!

Ya know, it's kinda funny but as I stated above, I originally ordered a 10 inch shield and John called and talked me into an 11 inch. After getting the 11 inch I found the wind was hitting at the brim of my helmet/glasses area. One of my local dealers had a new 12 inch and swapped it with me for my 11 inch (even though I didn't buy it there). Although the 12 is a bit better, I still find the wind not as clean as the factory shield was, even though at this point the dark grey 12 inch freedom shield is only 1 inch below the factory shield.

I like the look, certainly like the customer service, but I'm not really sold yet. I have a feeling I'll probably take the protective film off and just use it but I'm not sure. For being only one inch below the factory shield height, and only being 5'7, I'm surprised based on the reviews. Having said all that, it's a motorcycle so wind comes with the territory
