Hey guys, I'm. Newer member of the forum, and have been researching like mad for the last 2 weeks, that iv owned my 15 RGS, for a set of new bars. So, it's 3:30 am here in NY, and if spent the last 4 hours, and prior 2 weeks searching the forum, reading threads, and went through all 59 pages of Handle Bar & Controls Pics thread. I have found many that I like, but unable to pull the trigger, and would greatly appreciate recommendations.... Especially considering the last 13 months my fiance and I have been planning a wedding, my brain is fried from the 4,382 choices and decisions we've made in this past month alone :-/

With that said... My names Joe, Central New York, first time roadglide owner, 3rd time harley owner. I'm 5'9", and I believe I'm sold on the 12" bars, looking for arms to be just about straight out, 34ish" wide, and I know I wanna go black with the bars. I don't care for the look of a bunch of pullback in the bars. I really dig the meat hook style bars, mild hooks, or even some sharp 90s. I dig Yaffes monkey bars, and the 1.5" Malo are sweet!

Shoot me some thoughts if anything comes to mind. Like everybody else in the world, I would prefer not to spend $500 on handlebars, and wait 3 weeks for them, but for the perfect set of bars... it is what it is. I'm very new to handlebar replacment, and am only familiar with a few of the bigger companies. Any ideas guys? Sorry for rambling

Personally I have fallen in love with the Vindikta bars. After seeing several pics and even talking to my local bike shop who are firm supporters of their bars I'm waiting for my next paycheck to get mine ordered. My problem is I a little on the short side (5'7). So I'm leaning more towards 10 inch. But when I get some time I'm going hunting for a bike with similar bars so I can get a feel for them this weekend.

I've got 12" x 1.25" FMB Reapers that look bitchen but are a true bear to wire! I'm on he short side of 5'7" & I'm going to have a new set of bars built! I'm going to stay with FMB, thinking of 2" more pull back, going to 1.5" & 14" of rise! FMB has a hit & miss rep but I like the fact you talk to the man making your bars & I'm going to roll with them!

This maybe a difficult question to answer but, this is my first set of bars. I see your talking about adding pull back. I stand at 5'9", if I found a set of 1.5x 14" bars, I wouldn't even know how much pull back I would need truly. I saw a common pull back length of 7", Pulled out the tape measure and said "Meh, that should be good", Does that sound about right? I'd kinda like to match the angle of the forks...

I actually spent a bunch of time looking on FMB website today, and did notice they have alot of great looking bars, for good prices compared to there competitors. Most of there bars step down to 1" for riser, doesn't my 2015 RG require 1.25"? I would love to purchase a set of 1.5"x 14" bars, but I don't see any on there website, I take it you can call them and custom order that?

Well... Finally today I went ahead and pulled the trigger on a set of Black 14" Malo's for my 15 RG. Hopfully I get what I paid for because that's alot of money for an average Joe like myself :)

I hear guys putting 14s on there 15 RG without any sort of extensions. Is this True? If not, what should I consider purchasing so I'm ready when these bars come in?

I personally only know of one bike that has them...a street glide and she loves them. However...something about having a moving part on my handlebars scares me. I have hit some pretty rough stuff out there and some wicked bumps while touring and I can just picture the adjustment part breaking loose on me. I've seen many welds break including one during shark week in Texas this year. So having adjustable on my handlebars just seems to me to give it a weak spot. IMHO
