Stock Bars Vs. Heritage Bars

I have put 700 miles on my FLTRX and talk about stretching!!! It seems that when Harley switched to the 6 gal tank they didn't take into account that it moved us back some in the seat. My lower back was stiff from my having to straight arm the bars. I am going to put the heritage bars on and wondered if others did this and are satisfied.

Try a search on reduced reach and heritage bars, there are a number of discussions on this topic.

Put the Heritage style handlebars on my bike right after I got it in 08 and I love the bars.

08 FLTR candy red sunglo, 103 Stage II, Woods TW-222 cams, V&H Dresser Duals with Monster Rounds, Thundermax tuner, Willy Shiny Wheels and Forks and a bunch of other stuff.

I will say try to ride a bike with them first. You either love them or hate them. They don't work for me because of the wrist angle, if not they would have been perfect.

Looking into the reduced reach bars myself now, but haven't held a set yet......

Check out apes too. The heritage bars were killing my shoulders and upper back. The hated pinch. 14" bars (outlaws) now and if I am not careful can fall asleep.

6'2" with 34" inseam sitting on an take-off HD Ultra seat:

I need more rise plus the wrist angle is turned-in way too much for me. I have to squash my elbows into my sides to take the pressure off of my twisted wrists.

Bring 'em home or send us back!!

Garage
I ordered the Khrome Werks stretch Heritage bars today after riding the last year with the standard heritage bars, just not quite enough for me, needed more height and pullback.

2015 RGU CVO........under continuous change......
