Big $$$ for Outlawz

I ran into a guy on a 2013 RGC with 12" Outlawz. He told me he got them at Delray Cycles in Delray Beach, Florida. Since I live nearby, I decided to stop in.

They didnt have them in stock but he told me he could order them.I was quoted $1600-$1700 for the bars, installed with all the cables included. When he saw my look of shock, he informed me that the installation took at least 10 hours. I told him I was going to put them on myself and that everyone on RoadGlide.Org was installing them with stock cables. He informed me that if I did, I would end up stuck on the side of the road one day.
Then another guy walked up and asked me if I ever installed bars with TBW. I said no and he then told me that it is so difficult that even they have trouble doing it.
Any thoughts?

I wish I lived closer I would go knock that SOB out and when he woke up I would show him my 12" outlaws with stock cables with close to 7000 miles on them. I hate these dudes that try to intimidate customers.

Was it a pain in the ass to wire, yes. But with a little patience you can do it. It took me 6 hours with several beer and smoke breaks, and taking it slow. Bars cost me 175 bucks and I used stock everything.

Trust me when I tell you... If I can do it... you can.

I really am an absolute NON mechanic anything.

I ride a chair , keyboard and mouse for a living......

It took me a few tries and a couple nights of tinkering but I got it done... If I had to guess maybe 8 hours total.

Just take your time, document what your doing (so you can put it back together) and you'll be fine.

If you run into any problems i promise you that the people on this board will be a billion times more helpful than the dealer.

Check out my build thread in my sig... I literally just installed mine last week.

$1600 to $1700, I'm in the wrong business, I can do 2 sets a week and be set, lol. Don't go back to that shop, they're full of it, no telling how else they will try to rip you off!

2010 FLTRX, Custom paint, 107 CI, TS Bags, CM Fury 21" Wheel, too many other extra's to list.

Generally when I visit a business that relies on scare tactics I usually walk out while they are still talking and never come back.

Run run run away from that dealer they are trying to rip you off. You can do it, I just finished installing mine and this was my first time internally wiring a set of bars plenty of info on this forum, look under handlebars subsection for installation step by step and tbw info. All the stock cables and wires worked fine.

go elsewhere man, that is dishonest, unethical and borderline criminal. Either that or they are a bunch of window lickers I wouldn't want near my bike.
