Me and my riding buds (3 total) each did this job -new cams- by going in the top and saving the original push rods. Taking our time we had no problem getting a bike done in 6-7 hours. That included stopping to eat lunch. Really not that difficult of a job as long as you take your time and follow the directions in the manual. Also several good forum articles including pictures step by step and youtube videos.

this was on a 2004 Fatboy and two 2006 Road Kings.

If doing adjustable push rods 4-hours is enough time. If you reuse fixed pushrods maybe 5-hours. Go with adjustables and leave the top of the motor alone.

Just installed cams, adjustable pushrods, & a 107 big bore so it's fresh in my mind. What's even better is it all worked.

Longest part of mine was getting the head pipes off and on. Would have been nice to have true duals instead of power dual!
