I'm about to switch over to the hydraulic cam chain tensioner and was wondering if I should change out the cams and pushrods while I'm in there? Is it worth the money to do this?
My good friend who has a 2006 streeglide switched his cams to the Feuling 525 and was amazed at the low end torque and pull, these cams are designed for 88 and 96 inch motors, build power from 1750 rpm all the way to 5200 rpm, no changing valve springs etc. and the dyno graph is very smooth all the way up. i think with a hydraulic chain set up you will be fine IMO, i changed my lifters to S&S premiums when i did the cams with SE quickie pushrods from HD. My failed stock lifter just made this upgrade possible.
If you have higher mileage it's a good idea, I'm sure it's not that much more, I know the OE setup has a spring and a shoe under alot if tension, the hydraulic version is def an improved design, I would.
