I have the Harley Burst trim. they are sold as 2 separate pieces. The 2 side pieces retail for $104 and the center piece is $97. Well over $200 when you include tax. Here is what the HD Burst version looks like.
A big plus would be that the clamping force on the windshield would be across the whole bottom edge instead of just around the screw holes. That's a good enough reason to get them and they do look pretty good.
I'm running the Freedom Shield, and I think it fits nicely. The trip ships flat, and you start installing it from one side and work your way across to the other side. So it conforms to the shape of your windshield perfectly. I had to take it back off Thursday (found a great deal on a new take off 6.5gt) and it basically was straightened back out again. It is sufficiently thick and rigid, but not bulky (if that makes sense).
I wouldn't pick it up if they reason is to distribute the force across the entire edge of the windshield, but it does distributed it better around each mounting hole.
