Help a noob: Dash indicator bezel?

Anyone know how to remove the oval dash indicator bezel?
The cotton wadding I used to polish the bezel on my 2010 'Glide rubbed the "chrome" off.
I have the replacement bezel. Looks like it just sticks on with 3M tape, but I have to remove the old one first.

On your 2010 model you need to take the 2 screws out of the bezel then the top of the bezel will pop off, you have to lift from the back of the bezel and tilt it towards the ignition switch. The speedometer and tach come out with the top of the bezel then there is 2 screws in the back of each instrument that you need to remove to pull the instruments out of the bezel top.
The bad news is that the chrome is part if the speedometer and tach and the only way to fix that is a new speedometer or tach.

Not easily.
The new bezel is cupped but the old bezel is flat so there's not much of a mounting surface. And the new bezel is just that - it has no lens. So putting it on would create a void that would catch water if it rained.
Maybe I can make a filler lens out of Lexan or something? A lot of work to just make something shiny again.
