1000 miles on it now. Convinced the trade to the 2016 was a great idea. Not was wrong with my 2013 but this one is better.
Ride here was in some heavy rain not a bad ride at all.
Good to hear. I pick my RGU up Saturday, this has to be the slowest work week ever. How tall are you, and how are the bars/seat relationship fitting you so far. I'm 6'2" and am a little concerned I may have to ditch both...
Mengy, yeah it's funny how I got so used to riding kind of slouched over. The '16 wants me to sit up straight at which point yes it is a comfortable ride. I had the dealer remove the pin and roll the bars forward as far as they'd go, which helped a lot.
Drove a Billet Silver/Vivid Black out of the dealership with 7 miles on the odometer. I traded a 2011 Road King for it. We test drove one the week before, tried a number of seats and settled on the Hammock. The stock seat made me feel like my knees were up to my chin. Dealer loaned us their demo Hammock seat until ours arrived. Removed the heal shifter as well. Have to say my wife and I love the bike. It handles wonderfully. We also had applied Xzilon. I know many think this is snake oil, but after our maiden 150 miles, I simply applied water and gently wiped. Bike looks just like it did when we left the shop. I'm now working on de-catting a set of stock pipes for it. We thought we would go with the red version, but once we saw the silver, we loved it. No regrets.

I picked up my new two tone red RGU. This thing is a very well built fun bike. I am learning a lot and am really enjoying the ride. I will have to make a couple of minor adjustments to the shifter. The dealer rotated the bars forward and it works really well. I may also trim a little out of the rear portion of the riders seat to give a little more room.
It will be in for its first service next week and I will have the XM and heated grips installed at the same time. The heated seat will be done when the seat is trimmed and I will be good for the cooler fall weather that is right around the corner .
I must admit I bitched a lot when the MOCO decided to not build a RGU in 14 and 15 model years. I am really pleased with how well this bike turned out. It is a big step forward and they have done a really good job with this bike.
Any of you thinking of stepping up and purchasing will very quickly come to the conclusion this is an excellent bike.
Damn you, congrats man but damn you!!!! I'm still waiting for my dealer to find a red two tone for me, it's been a long wait so far. If it was May or June I wouldn't mind so much but it's mid September in PA, we'll have snow here soon, LOL!
I bought one last week. The seat is awful for a tall person. I bought a HD tall boy seat and it make the ride very comfortablel. I was going to to rotate the HB forward but after changing the seat I am comfortable with the location of the HB. The MC rides better than my 2012 RGU. I just have to gey adjusted to the new frame and seating position.

Good to hear the Tall Boy seat is working for you. Headed out the door for a four day ride, as soon as I'm done typing. I'm 6'2" and am curious how the stock seat is going to treat me. The Tall Boy is actually pretty reasonably priced for a HD part...
The 16's had me thinking ...... but my dealer offered me $15.5 for my 13RGU w 26k miles, and MSRP. Can't afford that & still very happy w mine! The new rides are nice though.
Saw 2016 candy yellow the other day while picking up some touch up paint. Now I feel silly for not waiting an extra month for the RGU, I did pick up a nice RGS for 2k off and they tossed an extra 1k my way in trade.
1st new Bagger/Touring so live n learn.
Is the tourpak fixed or have a quick release? I know the dealer part counter said its about 2k when all said n done to add a tourpak

If you buy an Ultra there is a hard mounted tourpak. To add a tourpak to your RGS your dealer is about right. In that case, it will be quick disconnect.
good deal then, i want the capability to take off and put on for long trips but not to have on the rest of the time. paying extra will have that as its benefit
I'm wondering the same thing, since it comes standard on the special. I'm not crazy about the wheels, regular floor boards, or rear light either. Almost thinking about buying a special and going your route, but I would like to have the water heads......... I'll decide sooner or later, or just get a Vette and not worry about it for a while.
The Cosmic Blue is beautiful IMO, but I don't know if I can deal with the graphics, the Black Quartz looks really good also, but it only comes on the Special, my third choice would be Charcoal Pearl, but it only comes on the standard RG........ why can't all the colors be available on the RGU? I don't plan on having another bike painted, so I may wait yet another year.
That's just what I did. I bought a Black Quartz, got the painted inner fairing, lowers, and detachable tour pak. I came out amazing. When I figure out how to post pics, I will.
dB. Buy a 15 RGS (much cheaper now) buy the painted lowers and t/p. You're only be missing the water cool and the CB?. Just a option. It came out cheaper for me. But the RGU wasn't out either. LoL GL.
That's the thing, the water cool is The Feature on the Ultra and it doesn't come in the RGS. Perhaps in the future MoCo will put the Twin Cool on the Specials and the regular models will remain air cooled.
Just like db, not interested in a custom paint job. My favorite combo is the Amber whisky w/silver, but it's only offered in the batwing classic. Maybe someday, we can order our bikes the way we want it, like cars, but that would take $$ from the maintenance shop of the dealers, so I don't see it happening.
