No rear turn signals, either. So if you go quick detach on the Tour Pac, you're gonna have to add rear turn signals. Guess they don't want you pulling the TP off...

Edit: Cut-n-paste from the site "Combination rear stop/turn/tail lights

The last thing people see when you go by on the Road Glide® Ultra motorcycle is the clean, custom look of combination rear stop/turn/tail lights. You never get a second chance to make a last impression."

So maybe the turn signals are part of the tail/brake lamp? Like the sport bike crowd all modifies their turn signals to???

Nope. Sorry, but the only turn signals are in the tourpak. They sell a detach kit that puts turn signals on the saddle bags, or Custom Dynamics sells lights that go in the filler panels in between. As far as the fender light goes, they are just standardizing the family of Ultras like the have with the Street and Road Glides. Bigger question on my mind is what took them an extra year to introduce a RGU? And why they can't have a Classic air head and Limited wet head versions like they have with the batwings?

2016 colors

I was disappointed when I seen the colors. Didn't see one that really excited me to buy a new one. I agree with the rear fender light, it would have to go. I think I'll ride mine for another year. I would rather buy the 2015 cvo for 36000, than spend all that money bring up the 2016 RGU to how you want it.

Yeah, I'd probably have to go Superior Blue. Second choice would be the silver & black. But that looks too much like my old 03.

I'm still interested, and due for an upgrade. I'll wait to see them in person, and I'm sure as hell not paying over sticker to be the first kid on the block to have one...

Looks like they changed the bars too. Seems a bit better than the 15's

^^That's about what I paid for my 2009. It had a chopped Tour Pac, chrome front end, a painted inner fairing and some other bits and pieces. All dealer installed, not my choices.

I'm already doing the math, If I can get $15K out of mine, I'll probably pull the trigger once the New Model Hoopla settles down. After three RG's in black, silver and gray, I'm kinda diggin' the Superior Blue.

Sure wish there was an Amber Whiskey, That'd push me over the edge a lot faster...

I'm glad they made the RGU, and the price is right. I'm not really crazy about the colors, and the rear lights aren't to my liking either, but I'll probably be thinking about it really seriously around June, when the hype is gone and I'm getting ready for SW6. Otherwise I'll just ride what I have, I'm definitely not trying to pay more to have one of the first.

It looks like the Limited has two antennas stock, so it must come with a CB. The RGU only has one. I found this Boom! Audio Bike-to-Bike Communications Kit-76000486 | Communication Systems | Official Harley-Davidson Online Store so it looks like we'd have to add a $325 "kit" plus a $90 antenna to add a CB to the new RGU. It would be nice to have, as I do mostly long distance touring, and both of my riding partners have CB's. It'd be nice to be able to talk to them.

As an aside, does anybody know if the Bluetooth on the Boom system will communicate with Bluetooth helmet headsets (I'm currently using a Cardo) or do I have to plug into the bike with HD's headset?

I really like it. I am one of the "weird" people who love the TP and would never take it off. My old batwing had the quick detach. It was nice for cleaning, but whenever I was rolling I had the TP on, I like the more balanced look. The two blues grab my eye, as well as the purple. Not sure if I am ready since mine is free and clear, plus I still have warranty left and would have to drop another few grand into making it mine. Has me excited for a couple of years down the road when I am ready.

My wife would, and for that matter, depending on what it looks like in person I'd be tempted to, maybe.
Nothing wrong with purple, at least it's not black, or blue. I tend to be the type that doesn't buy the same one as the next guy has. I've has purple, green, merlot, and now black/orange whatever it is. Somebody at the MoCo has a thing for olive or camo type colors mixed with something else for 2-tones, yuck.

The only thing the new one has over my 2012 is the in-dash infotainment system and maybe the twin cooled motor. I already updated to the new 2014 bags and SG wheels. Even with one of the local dealers offering full retail value on trades it'd still cost me a fair few grand to upgrade and I'd still have to start making improvements.

I like the Rushmore changes enough to consider trading - but I don't like any of the Ultra colors. Looks like I'm waiting another year unless there's a mid-year release of more colors - or unless I spring for a CVO. That's not likely. I usually trade just before the clock hits 60K anyway, and I just went past 40K on my '13. Yeah, looks like I'm waiting another year.

I am going to have to see the colors in person. The Red does not look right to me.
The Superior Blue might work for us.

One thing I've always liked about the RG is that it's not two-tone. I sure wish there was a solid color Amber Whiskey RGU, I'd have already written the check...

You guys all talking about the tail light on the rear fender bumper like mine? I like it as long as the other pieces are there to match. I still like the bag guards and the bumper/light on the front fender. If I was to get a newer RG to replace my TG I think I would try to add these to it.
