So, I put a 21 front, 17 rear setup on my ultra. I had these wheels on my streetglide and I lowered the front 1" since the rear was already lowered on that bike. On my roadglide I did not lower the front with the longer rear shocks and I am loving everything about it, larger lean angle included except for lifting it off the jiffy stand. I am fairly strong but this thing is a beast to lift off the stand, especially if there is any slope to the ground. I found that performance machine makes a longer stand. Performance Machine Extended Kick Stand for Harley Davidson 2007-15 FL models J&P Part: 723-287. I was wondering if anyone had used this and could give me any info?
Funny, I wasn't going to use them when I took them off my old bike. The old ones had nearly 70,000 miles on them and had been wrapped up in my garage since 2013. I was about to sell them when Performance Machine sent me a letter telling me that they were recalled and they were sending me a brand new set. Then the guys at Coastal Moto sent me new floating front rotors to match the new wheels. Now I had a delima. I could sell them for nowhere near what they were worth or put them on this bike and enjoy them. I have never had any handling issues with a 21 so I went for it. I figure $60-$70 (the cost of a stand) is not a bad deal for a nice set of new custom wheels.
With the Streetglide being lower and lowering the front forks the stand was not an issue. This bike it is at its stock height. I just need to know if the stand I refer to above is what I need or if there is another one out there I should buy.
Added the stand I mentioned above. Easy installation. At first it didn't appear that different visually. Big difference lifting off the stand though. Feels like stock, maybe a little easier.
