Almost upgraded to an Ultra
The weather in the Dallas area the past couple of days is nothing short of spectacular, 75 degrees, sunny. Who could ask for more. So I played hooky from work and rode over to the dealer to get one of those hidden antenna kits.
While I was there I was talking to the guy who sold me my RGC and I was looking an an Ultra. As we were talking I made a comment about how with all of the stuff I'm adding to my custom it may have been a better idea to have gotten an Ultra instead. He actually has 3 Ultras in stock and we started looking and I made the mistake of sitting on one. Love that seat compared to the seat on my Custom. Then I told him how financially I thought this was a bad idea considering I'm just now a year into my current bike and loan and I didn't think he'd be able to swing a deal that I could live with. Naturally he turned on his full sales-guy mode and I was seriously considering sitting down and going through the numbers when that little voice in my head said "run!"
So I told him I needed to kick the idea around for a while and get back to work and headed out. Stopped and got gas and while I was filling up Deacon Blue this idiot woman driver on her phone nearly ran me down right next to the gas pump. I spilled gas all over the bike, even on the seat. !@##$%! Wiped the seat off and headed straight home, only about a mile fortunately.
When I got home I got all the equipment out to wash the bike and cleaned it up good. Of course if you're gonna wash it you may as well wax it too, so I did.
So the bike is all clean and shiny again and I'm sitting here in my study looking at it in the driveway. Why would I get rid of it? That thing is gorgeous!
Then again, Merry Christmas to me 2 years in a row???
