I finally bought a 2013 Road Glide with 1,143 miles on it. It looks like it is brand new, not a scratch on it. I will be putting some miles on it this weekend. Now i feel like an official member of the forum.

Thanks for the welcome, i appreciate it. I could not be happier with the bike. I didn't own a Harley when i joined the forum but knew i was going to get one eventually, so i joined to get all the info i could get on the RG and you guys provided all that. Thanks again, i am very happy to be a member of this forum and hope i will be able to contribute my part to the group. Ride safe.

Again congrats! There is nothing like that first Harley. I wish I had never traded mine off. At the end of the day all the rest will have to measure up to the first one. That is some heavy shoes for the future bikes to try and fill. You will end up with a set of memories that will set the bar that no future bike will achieve. Enjoy the ride and keep the rubber on the road.

Congrats man! Your not to far from me in pensacola. I bought mine last year, 2009, and it had 1240 miles on it. The owners wife got bed ridden sick right after he bought it and it just sat there. He traded it in on a 3 wheeler.
Congrats again!

Well, not knowing what's what on my new to me 2013 Road Glide and after about 300 miles i have put on it, i have discovered that i, more than likely, need a new compensator. Everything is normal about the bike except when i shut the bike off it has a fairly loud clunk or 2. It starts up fast and i have not noticed any problems with how the motor runs. Its kinda hard to find Neutral if i stop in first and try to find it and has a slight vibration at a certain lower rpm. My friend and mechanic says he thinks it's probably the compensator. My question is, Thunder Beach is this weekend and i would like to ride it there. It will be about 200-250 miles for me to get there and back. Do you think i will be OK riding it? Thanks.
Oh, is there a certain compensator that you guys recommend. And sorry if this is going to be like a best oil question.

Way to come out swinging - First HD is a RG, not messing with a Sporty/Dyna/Softail but right to the glides - I like it

I have never known a Harley NOT to vibrate so not sure about that or what the "Clunk" is but I am thinking with such low miles, I would be hard pressed to think the Comp has gone bad

Thanks guy's, I appreciate it. I'll be riding my beastie to TB for the weekend and then replacing my compensator when i get back. I have probably rubbed off a layer of clear coat waxing and detailing this bike. This is my favorite bike, of all the ones i have owned so far and there have been several over 30 years of riding. Glad to finally be here.
