Today my Glide was in getting some work done, as I was perusing the Dealership I came across this bike, some limited edition (only 800 to be sold) according to the sales rep.

What makes this a $50,000 motorcycle. It is pushing less HP and Tq than my 103 is.

It's a special paint set that the dealerships buy and in order for them to get them they have to accessorize a bike and put the new tins on it. They are adding in the price of labor and all the other stuff to get it to that price. In some cases the dealer will still have the original take off parts to sell with the bike but in most cases they don't offer that. It's all relative so someone with deep pockets will fall in love with it and buy it. I'm pretty sure that if someone wanted to finance it that they couldn't. They would only be able to finance it for maybe a little more than the original price of the bike (before the upgrades) and then pay cash for the rest.

Sweet bike but for $ 50,000 No Way.

I would rather have your bike brother.
I really liked the paint on your CVO when it came out.
Man I could build one killer bike for $ 50,000.
I guess if your lazy and have a ton of cash, this would be the bike for you. I make decent money but I would never spend $ 50,000 on that bike.

As a guy who has some paintng skills, it doesn't look like it would take much to add the white to a vivid black bike. I do like the look, but no way would I shell out $50K, even with all the other add ons.

Who knows, maybe I'll add some white down the road.

HDF MIGHT but I doubt it as with the new lending laws, they typically will not Finc over 100% of the base cost of a bike so if a RG is $22K and has $5K in extras....HDF will not Finc the whole $27K......you would need to put $5K down to cover the cost of the extras and Ins Co's vary but most go off make, model and VIN for coverage and will require a Ryder for add ons

The only thing that makes a bike worth $50,000 is someone willy to pay it.
Just like when the Iron Horse bikes sold for 26K and up. Ran out of people willing to pay it.
Someone will there is always someone with a little more cash will to lay it down.

The local dealer here (Black Widow HD) just got two of these "HD paint shop" bikes in. One was this one and the other was a bat wing, both were priced at $49,995. It must be the 1990s all over again. Throw $15k worth of paint and goodies on a $23k bike and ask $50k for it. Couldn't see how they justify anywhere near that price for either model. Different strokes ....

Some people buy to ride. Some to support their fragile ego. My wife doesn't know one bike or car from the other. Her "friend" was very disappointed when my wife didn't acknowledge her new Mercedes. It was about the same color as the Subaru she traded in. My wife didn't even know it was a different car.

Thursday, I wore my Triumph emblazoned jacket while riding the RGU. I'm sure there were a lot of confused civilians. ;) The Harley dealer didn't even acknowledge it. They are well trained in customer service.

If someone wants to spend $50k on a bike they like, who cares?! If they get enjoyment from it even if they rarely ride it that is all that all that matters. And needless to say prices are relative to what someone is willing to pay, and what they can afford.

After reading most of your posts I couldn’t help but add this, Last year i got the bug to get a Road Glide (always liked the look) and looking at new bikes I was blown away at the 32.500 price of a new 2020 in Nov 2019. So when driving home, I happened into this 2017 With just 7.5 k miles for just $15,000 that’s less than half the price of new, and only 3 yrs old. Made sense to me, it even had a 114 stage 3 kit installed by Harley in it.
