I happened to be at one of my local Dealerships on Sunday (Seminole HD in Sanford), and was surprised to see more bikes on the showroom floor than I've ever seen - there was barely room to walk around. They even had bikes stuffed in the clothing and accessories area. I asked what was up, and they said they were making room in the storage area because they will be receiving two tractor trailer loads of 2017's tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday)! They will be having a mini-unveiling in the parking lot.
I guess the rumors of the new motor should be put to rest soon. I asked about a test ride, but my salesman (who I bought two bikes from in the last year) just laughed and said they were ALL sold already. :surprise:
Any other guys heard of dealerships getting the 2017s this week ??
Exactly. They're usually out about a week before the dealers meeting. I've been checking for updates every few hours as I'm off work right now. I'm wondering if HD paid off someone in Cali to keep that report on the shelf until tomorrow during the rollout.
Don't stress bro. You've got yourself a hell of a nice bike, let someone else be the guinea pig for the MOCO. A brand new motor could be the greatest thing since sliced bread or it could be a huge turd. See how things shake out, you can always trade yours in next year if the 107 turns out to be a world beater. For now enjoy your new bike.
None of the previous year models eaccessories will fit. Like headers, pipes acc. My 16 RGU is looking mighty fine right now. I am not in the mood for being a $30,000 Ginny pig.
I am glad they're coming out with a new motor (we shall see) but I am also perfectly fine with my 16 RGS. Love this thing and will let the new motor (if it is there) break in a few years before I ever decide to get rid of my current bike!
Not sure about US sales but up here HD Canada has had 0.99% financing on three different times since February of this year! Every time HD Canada would state, "this is a limited time off"... that keeps coming back
This is my first HD purchase however I do not believe they have every put such low financing and such a hard push on sales, you could tell they were clearing out inventory for a reason!
Nice Find Bro - Here is a Lap on the CVO SG around our local track - I was watching this and thought......"Wait, I know that scenery"
When he launches and makes his first right hander (T1) yours truly high sided a SV 650 back in '99 RIGHT there and is why I now have a titanium right shin
I just saw the M8 in person and listened to it run. I have to say that I will be test riding one real soon and I hope it lives up to the hype. It idles much smoother than the twin cam but it still has a Harley sound. One of the guys that actually rode it said that it was incredibly smooth out on the highway. I'm sure there are plenty of reviews coming and I was one that didn't get too excited about all the hype so far but after seeing and hearing the engine in person I am a bit more intrigued. The down side is that the colors aren't that much different from what I have seen so far. If I do decide that I want one of the new engines I'll wait until they do more with the colors.
Milwaukee-Eight head. All versions of this engine are technically liquid cooled; some with coolant and some. Other improvements are lighter clutch & it looks like the ol air shocks are finally gone
I looked at a roadglide ultra today,8 valves, oil cooled and has wet heads to.the collector is set back a little farther and it looks like the fins on the cylinders are wider for better cooling
That's exactly what I thought when I first saw it. I have a feeling it will look even more like the Yammy motor when you put a smaller air cleaner on it, or Harley puts it in a bike with smaller tanks....
I’m excited for a new HD engine and the M8 sounds like a great step forward. I can’t wait to buy one ten years from now!!!!
Honestly, I’m so damn happy with my 2016 RGU that I have no desire at all to trade it in anytime soon. I’ve never put 100K on a bike before, but I think my ’16 RGU will be the first. Once I hit 100K, then I will allow myself to go looking at the new bikes! By then they should have all of the kinks worked out of the M8. Still, I’m eager to go see them at the dealer and even test ride one just to see what they are like.
I like what I've seen and read on this new engine. I may sell both glides and get one when the 18s start coming out.
One of the things I like best about the Rushmore is when I'm sitting at a light idling, those apes just shake like, crazy. Sounds like those days are over.
