Looking at a new leftover 2016

I have resisted test riding and looking at the new bikes since the Rushmore models came out. Partially because I haven't wanted to spend the money, and partly because I have just been very happy with my 2011. Now, I kind of have the bug for the newer platform, and have found a 2016 in a color that even the wife loves. For those of you that made the jump, do you like the Rushmore better than the previous model, and what exactly do you like? Thanks for all feedback.

If I were buying a new one I would go with the 16 over the 17 cuz the 17 has version 1.0 of the motor. It also helps that you can save some $. That being said, the front suspension on the 17 is much better than the stock 16.

I went from a '12 to a '15 and haven't looked back. The fairing is what I mostly like about the '15. Think of it this way, with every new Harley purchase you get new tires, brake pads, fresh oil and filter and a warranty. That's less maintenance items you need to get for the '11.

I have a 10, 16, and 17. The 16 handles better and is a little stronger than the 10 was ( 10 has been modified), the 17 is definitely more powerful but handles about the same as the 16. Believe it or not, I paid about $500 less for the 17 than I did for the 16, but that is because of the color. I'll say this, if you can get a 16 for less than 20k OTD that may be the way to go, otherwise I'd go 17.

My 15 is a superior machine in many ways over my 09. I loved my 09, but don't miss it at all.

I got a 17 because it was the same cost as the 16. around here I couldn't find a great deal on either. Got my 17 in Greenboro NC. only about 5 hrs away.

Unless, you are getting a really super great deal I would wait until August, and see what they will give you a left-over 17 for.

Best thing I did was traded 11 for my 16. You won't regret it.

Buy it. And put the money you saved into mods. It will run and ride as good or better than a current model. Even if you buy a 17, you will still spend money on it. JMO
