Oh, I think it was around '71. Bought a '69 Electra glide from the owner of HD of New Oxford, Pa.
Yeah, wish I still had that one...

I've been riding for many years but I bought my first Harley in 07, 2007 EGC Black Cherry, I really wanted a RG, but I didn't like the gray engine back then.......silly reason, lol.

In 1990, a 1979 FLH 1340. Tan and cream, she was a beauty. S&S super and 1 3/4 " drag pipes, those were the days. Anything over 45 mph, stuff would just vibrate off while you were riding along. I don't miss the AMF era.

Mine was a '52 Panhead - tank shift/foot clutch (converted to Jockey-shift/ suicide) I bought in 1969. I was young & stupid of course & chopped it. Looking back, I wish I had kept it, and left it stock. I put a lot of memorable miles on that jewel, and it always got me home. Great bike.

My worst regret was selling it and buying a new '79 Lowrider in 1980. Silver & Black Shovelhead. It was stolen six months later, and to be honest, I'm glad it was - it was an AMF build. A total piece of shit. I tried to buy back my old Pan, but no dice.

After that, I owned a few Japanese and Bavarian models for a while...but I took another chance and bought a new '88 Softail (EVO) and never looked back. It's been all Harleys ever since.

First Harley. 98 Softail Custom. Vivid Black. Spring of 98 went to my local dealer, they had a 97 bone stock 800 some miles. Perfect I thought. Dealer wanted $2,000 more than 98 msrp. Came home pissed. Complained to the wife about the robbery. She said if you want one, buy it. I put my nose to the grindstone and found a new 98 for $500 over msrp. Next week flew out to get it. Told the wife the plan. She said "I didn't mean RIGHT AWAY!". Picked it up anyway, loved it for over 100k. My second Harley 15 RGS. New smile on my face.

First Harley, in 1972, I bought a 1967 XLCH. Bought my first brand new Harley, in 1980, a FXB Sturgis, with the twin belt drive. Unlike the other posters, my AMF bike was trouble free..........well, trouble free until I put a set of S&S stroker flywheels and a 100 shot of nitrous on it! Awh, the memories
