Its So Quiet.......

....and I Dig It The Most

Dealer found a buyer for my '15 Beast and I got the numbers I was looking for - Took her in for the last rip (dealer is 30 miles away, all Hwy) to the shop that created her and said goodbye.......and then said hello to the below - 2017 M8 RGS with Dealer Added (they gave me the parts at Cost):

- LEDs Front & Rear
- Blacked Out Front
- Agitator Rims Front & Rear
- Chiseled Low Bars
- Edge Cut Levers and Mirrors
- "Get-a-Grip" Grips
- CVO Slips Ons

I had them throw on my Slicer Fender, CVO Seat, Rear Ohlins and Memphis Shade Screen - The CVO Slips were a last Min gift so to speak as while they were swapping my stuff over, the Tech came to me and said "I got the okay, if you want, to give you CVO Slip Ons as we did a Stage 4 on a CVO last week and the guy did not want the cans so you are getting them at no cost"

All and All, quiet as a Church Mouse at Idle and a slight grumble when on the beans - I can hear my tunes now without being on Full Blast and the ride is quiet and relaxed......and I dig it - I lost a shit ton of HP/Trq but the M8 is not all that bad

See ya at SW ........

Things I will Miss:

- Heated Grips
- CVO Bags
- 130 HP and 140 FPT
- All the Bits it had (Boards, Linkage, Pedals, etc)

Things I will not miss:

- The Black Chrome (PAIN IN THA ASS to keep clean and intact)
- Deafening Sound
- Loud as hell Motor (Not exhaust but Motor...more build, more noise)
- Heavy Barnet Clutch

Things I Love about the M8:

- Love having a gear indicator again (The Baker 7 killed that one for me)
- So quite
- Butter Smooth Clutch and Trans (Barnet was nice but Heavy and the Baker was geared short)
- Warranty Warranty Warranty
- I can get Hwy Pegs......WOOO (The Beast ran sans Crashbar)

I never admitted this before but the M8 gives me tremendous piece of mind - In the back of my head, I was always worried about the 117 going boom - Extremely well built and never an issue with the 5000 miles I put on it.....but it always weighed on me....as did the Stock Crank - I thought I would be fine with it but I have to say, it was always in the back of my mind - Now I am worry free and under the Radar

Nice looking machine there.

I did the M8 demo rides last year during the Milwaukee Rally, that's what got me hooked on the RG. Though I didn't want to give up my Fat Boy (like you, had a ton into it. Nothing stock left on it, not even paint), I was sold. Didn't end up with the M8, but I am happy with the jump to the best touring ride out there.

Congrats brother.......If I had the means to make payments again, I would be rolling a M8. They are absolutely, hands down, the best RoadGlide on the road
