Wind noise reduction

I got my bike and put the first 60 miles on it yesterday and one thing I noticed is the wind noise is very loud. I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions, on if a windshield would cut down on noise. I don't really have any buffeting problems but it's pretty loud. Let me know what you think I was looking at a Klock 12" and maybe some fork wind deflectors.

Sanchos wings, clearview windshield, harley frame mounted deflectors.

2011 Road- Glide Custom-stock engine w/K&N air filter. I like it quiet.

If you really want performance, save your money and buy anything other than a Klock. Mine looked great, but had zero function over the stock toe nail screen.

I now have lowers and a MadStad and therefore absolute minimal turbulence and noise. Absent of those, I would look at Sancho's Wings or GADS as a start.

Like most others here, I've went through 4 different windshields. Get the Madstad and forget it. You'll save a LOT of time/effort/agravation and MONEY.
Don't just take my word for it. Do a search in the on the windshield thread.

Check out this review on all KW shields for the RG: http://myroadglide.com/myroadglide-c...re-windshield/. I run the 12" KW while wearing a brain bucket and custom earplugs. Also added the HD crash bar to tank deflectors (HD part # 57000063 - $34.95). Just got back from 1000+ miles to Daytona and love the setup. Other things to consider are seat height and helmet style. A 3/4 or full face helmet get rid of wind noise. But for me, that takes away the reason to ride! Good luck.

+1 on Sancho's wings. They make a big difference as a lot of the wind comes around the under-outside of the fairing and then UP into your face versus over the top of the windshield. I have the wings with the stock HD windshield (for now) and the black plastic HD deflectors. I'm happy w/ the setup but nonetheless looking for a Windvest.

No issues here. I have a 12" HD windshield, lowers, deflectors, and wear a half helmet. Of course, I'm half deaf from 35 years of firearms training/hunting and loud rock-n-roll!

+1

I've tried a number of windshields, and have landed on a Windvest 12" (I'm 5'8" with more torso than leg). I also have the HD deflectors and Sanchos. I still have wind noise, but it's definitely an improvement.
