Tall Riders - Full Legroom at last

I'm 6'6", about 250 lbs, 36" inseam.

Didn't like that my right foot was blocked by the rear brake pedal, even with the Kury 1071 extended lever. I covered, the bike with cloth, surrounded the right shifter with fireproof material, ground 1/2 of the brake pad off (at the notches, cut the stock humongous black rubber pad in half, slipped it on, and now I can put my feet straight ahead into the lower for several more inches of legroom. Will get a small softtail brake pad when I can. Got the idea from some guy on this forum when he said he ground the stock pad in half, so I did the same to the Kury part.

Earlier this week, put the Walter's workshop extended shifter on and Kury 1" out and 1" forward extenders. Kept the shifter on the inside and capped the shift rod on the outside instead of putting a bushing on the inside. Now the shifter and brake are both on the inside edge of each footboard, and I can put both feet comfortably right into the lowers.

The bike finally feels absolutely right with those additions and the Ultimate 2-piece seat with backrest (and tall clearview shield on the way).

Ride safe,

What's up there Rambo, I'm curious to see pics if your upgrades. Any chance forwarding me some pics? I have the kuryakyn floor board adapters as well and they don't fit that well. acolon20@optonline.net.
I too am a tall guy and need all the comfort your speaking of.

Winter project time. Spent the afternoon in the garage. Pulled the tank, exhaust, and floorboards, then removed the rockers, and got into the cam chest. Rockers, lifters, and cams were all in excellent condition. Pinion shaft runout was .0035". Not great, but I'm not going to run out and have the flywheels worked over. Heads & jugs will come off next, in prep for 107" jugs, and a cam swap. Still have to pull the inner fairing, to send it in for paint. Long Alaskan winters are very expensive!

Ordered up some additional storage for the ride.

Saddlemen Cruis'n Deluxe Saddlebag Guard Bag Set

I like these better than the Harley items. More storage, and you do not have to waste space for the water bottle if you do not use it.

In theory, Theory and Reality are the same. In reality, they are different.

Just received my LRS 12" clear shield in the mail, plan on mounting that sucker up this afternoon... Hopefully it will help with colder weather and frozen face syndrome...
