I too came from a street bob. '07 with 13,000 miles. I have already put 6k on this one. However, if I was able to keep the bob, I would have. Denim black, V&H pipes, Willie G package, yada yada. would love to have both.
the bob was very easy to maneuver, back up, lift on the rare occasion, in fact I don't think I ever laid the bob down. I have tipped my rg twice, both times trying to back on grass or soft dirt. Never any damage, but it is a testimony to how much heavier it is.
That's not really a bad thing, but just be warned that you will need to adapt yourself to the new weight. with the extra weight, however it is incredibly balanced. Cornering is great, like a lighter bike, while highway cruising <if ever so rare> you have good, or great stability.
just my obs since I got mine. Again the only thing I would change is to keep both. riding alone, mostly, (my wife is good for 2-3 rides a year, where I ride daily in decent weather) the bob was an awful lot of fun.
