Do any of you fools know if the new 2017 Internals of the Front Susp are backwards compatible with the older models? If I can score a deal on them over the winter, I would consider them for sure

Not a fan of the Mono Tube Progressive set up - Super Shox is supposedly working on one and then there is the big O for $1K - IMHO, Progressive has gone down hill in quality over the years - Reminds me of Reinhart......was once the standard, now........meh, not so much

Ha....and i commented in that thread............who says it kills short term memory??????

Cool - I know I can get good "Winter Discounts" on HD stuff so that parts list was like 6 bills and HD, with Labor? - Add Winter Discount and this might be a way for me to get what I need done

Ed, there's a company called Race Tech. Racetech.com.... They were recommended to me by a very knowledgeable man that works in the HD business. They're gonna be my front end suspension project for the winter. Drag Specialties sells the Race Tech stuff.

Go grab one of the local bikes for a test drive and swing it on by, a little wrenching and we can swap those '17 forks over to your ride in no time and have the '17 back to the dealer before lunch so you can complain about how awful you think the ride is compared to a different '17 you rode. Problem solved, man my problem solving skills deserve a beer about now!

I have a 2016 RGS. A rider with an Ultra asked me how I like it and I told him that I think the front suspension is too harsh, as regards ride. Handles like a sport bike but that's not what I wanted when I bought the bike.

Anyway, he said that he didn't like the ride on the Ultra either. That surprised me because I thought that the fatter front tire on the Ultra would improve the ride over the low profile "rubber band" on the Special. He had talked to the parts counter person and he recommended a switch to the Progressive front spring replacements. He put them on and, not only did he notice the improvement but his passenger did! That says a lot. As a result I'm definitely keeping the idea of replacing the front springs in mind.
