I upgraded the front speakers on my 2012 Ultra to the hawg-wired four-in-the-face setup. So now I can barely hear the rear speakers. I know that all the best effect comes from the front but my minor ocd doesn't like the idea that the rears are there but not pulling their weight.
I sometimes remove the tour Pak and although I don't use the intercom I'd like to leave the wiring intact for now. That might change if I swap out the head unit.
So, my question is, can I install a small amp inside the tour pak and run the power wires back to it with a quick disconnect in the line? There's some room in the rear corners for a compact amp where there are bump outs in the liner. I've already removed the rear antennae so there's nothing in the corners.
For the speaker connections I'm thinking l can disconnect the speakers inside the pods and extend them inside the pak to the input side of the amp. Then run the outputs back to the speakers. That would mean I can take of the tour pak using the existing disconnects at the speaker pods and an additional disconnect for the power wires.
