I guess you are asking about the dials on the amp also.
on those I turn everything on, volume down, turn up the amp until you start hearing whish or whoosh, some white noise, then turn it back to eliminate that noise
there are also indicator lights for BRT and clipping, it's okay for BRT to be on, in fact the Rockford demo shows it going on and off quickly
but if the clipping is coming on that not good and you've exceeded the amps
a couple things to try additionally trying the crossovers to trim a small amount of bass away from the speakers and adding the remote PEQ dial,
which will brighten things up, i.e. make them more audible.
but there are definitely limits to one set of speakers, that is why
some people add more, to take what they have an multiply it.
that way you don't have to overextend so much to hear.
