I just installed a detachable tour pack kit on my '13 Road Glide Ultra and used the shorter antennas because I cannot remove the oem from the tour pack,(glued on tight). The reception is about 1/4 of what I got with the OEM ant. so I thought maybe I should eat it and just purchase a new oem antenna but when I removed the shorty ant from the bike it made no differance in the reception as if it was not connected at all, any Ideas would be much appreciated

I've tried several shorties and now running an internal antennae. Nothing works as well as the full size whip. The rest are all marginal at best.
Which is why I installed SiriusXM and have 35G of stored music to listen to ......
