Folks, my Sony DSX-MS60 finally died. I have not been thrilled with this head unit, had to replace a couple under warranty, and the current one has always been flaky. Recently had to replace my stator and VR, now the Sony is completely dead and I suspect the erratic voltage took it out (fuse is fine, however)
So I'm looking to replace it. I have a Biketronics BT2180 amp as well. Would like something with built-in bluetooth.
Aquatic AV head units are the up and coming head units. I have one and it works great and it's waterproof and plug and play. When I was at the Laughlin river run this year most all the audio vendors were using the Aquatic AV in their demo bikes.
I'm looking at the AQ-MP-5BT-H, I dont need the sirius crap. It looks smaller than the more expensive unit, I presume they have a mounting plate that accommodates that.
I also have the Aquatic and like it.
Pros: Plug N Play
Waterproof
Cons: No Equalizer. With the power Im using it sure would be nice and it would make a difference SQ wise
Im running 2 amps and I had to buy 2 "Y" RCAs. No big deal but it added to the cost.
All in all it works with no problems at all. I would guess the next Gen of this HU will have a equalizer and more pre-outs
When using an iPhone / iPod can you access your menus playlist, songs, artists etc using your handle bar controls with any of the heads that have been mentioned?
