I'm about to do the same thing. We did my son's wheels on his jeep and I was going to start with covers and move to forks etc. How is it holding up on the covers that get hot?
LOL!!!! I am a snuff user and had was wondering what this was about as well. My brother has done this (dipping) on his wheels and looks great on his bike. I as others, are wondering of the longevity.
Great! Thanks. I was curious about the heat on the covers. I may do mine this Sunday.
Yeah my son has about 10,000 miles on the jeep since we did them. Lots of off road, mud, rocks etc... still look exactly like they did when we dipped them.
The stuff is bullet proof.
I have been using Plasti Dip for about a year and a half and it is a great option for sure.
My rims are dipped and my lower fork tubes are dipped.
You don't like it simply just peel it off.
If you go onto YouTube and do a search under Plasti Dip there is plenty of information about this product.

I'm looking at buying some orange plastidip, I think they make a color that fits my Mirage Orange. I'll also spray some of their gloss on it. Hopefully it works out.
I tried it on my truck chrome mirror caps and chrome F350 emblems. Did them in March and holding up great. It was cold then (~ mid 50s) and I think the coats would have dried better if it were much warmer. The clear coat really changes the finish and adds depth.
I did my whole Dyna Switchback in 2 days. Was sick of the black so decided I wanted to try a different look so tore it all down, sprayed it and put it back together. Rode it for about 4 or 5 months and never had one chip. Would I do this to my RGS, HELL no! But the Dyna I think I changed color schemes like 4x.
Here it is in flat white (which I know isn't for everybody) but it did turn a lot of heads.
I have been dipping since I was 12 but never with plasti until last night. I may peel it off and start over to see if I can get a smoother finish. Got a feeling this is going to get very addictive...
I don't mind dipping, I just wish it was better protected. For example, get any gas on it, you pretty much need to respray.
