Peep this video I just recorded today. I just bought the new GoPro Hero3 and finally had the opportunity today to mount it to my helmet and take it for a spin.
I have so many accessories for my GoPro until I'm not going to bother with the new one. How was the MadStad? I guess you must be in Cali, I still would have to get used to lane splitting, I just don't trust cagers, one sudden lane change and.......well you know the rest of the story.
Good video how did the GoPro3 feel on the helmet? I have the GoPro2 that is a slightly bigger camera; I mainly mount my camera on the bike. Cagers don’t normally need much of an excuse to knock you arse-over-tit, why make it easier for them?
Nice video but that lane splitting crap is not for me. Legal or not. And now that I see the Madstad from the riders perspective it confirms my decision to not get one. I'm sure it is an awesome shield and works great. Just can't get over the looks.
I know we've had threads on lane splitting but if you've lived in CA then you're most likely good at lane splitting. I ride every day and I rarely see a bike sitting in traffic. If you want to come to So. Cal, I'm happy to take you on the 405 at rush hour and skool ya. By the time you leave you'll be splitting lanes on cruise control with no hands.
LOL. yeah. if you're from here, its normal. I've been lane splitting since day one. Now... understand though, there still are laws pertaining to it. You can't just lane split anytime you want... I think the law here states that you can only lane split if traffic is almost at a complete stand still. So you cant just be flying through normal traffic if the flow is going like over 30 mph.
As far as the GoPro...so far so good. The new hero3 is super small. the clarity is really good. What you're seeing is after its been processed, colored, etc. The raw footage looks awesome. For this vid, I mounted it on my helmet. I plan on buying a lot more mounts and placing them on the bike so i can take shots from different angles. More angles, better loooking vid. I think i'll also use this camera to do product reviews on my site. We'll see.
Now the looks of the madstad, as I've mentioned in a review...its not for everyone BUT... if I would have had any other windshield on, that camera would have probably ripped off from the wind. I still have some tweaking to do with the settings but as it stands right now, that windshield is the sheeeeeit!
Not much traffic where I live, but even if splitting were legal here and we did have traffic, not sure how much I would do it! Looks crazy from the camera's POV
