Windshield Puzzle

Hey everybody
I have a 2012 Road Glide Custom and to-date have tried "SIX" different windshields. The factory one if you can call it a windshield is nothing more than a decoration as we all know - wind splitter, klockwerks, 16" Harley and a few more. I am 6`3" and after a ride of 2-300 miles it was deafening and actually took a couple of days before my hearing was back to normal wearing a half helmet. On the verge of selling my bike that I love with exception of this wind issue I tried one last time with the "Wind Vest" a 14" smoked windshield and WOW not only was the buffeting gone but I could hear my stereo and hear the bike. It is definitely a completely different ride and solved the wind issue finally. I highly recommend the wind vest - it fit the bike the best and performed like none I have tried and looks good as well.

Hoss, you have no idea how glad I am to hear you cured the problem. !!!!! I have a 14" on the way and was hoping I didnt screw up . I feel alot better now. the issue with these Glides is that Harley refuses to address the buffeting issue thru a re design of the fairings geometry. Its a fatal flaw these bike have had forever. Until they get off their asses and fix it we will keep spending countless dollars trying to fix it so we can ride at highway speed and not have our eyes shook out of our head.
Craig Vetter designed the WIndjammer back in the 70's and to date it was the best air management fairing ever developed. We should be way beyond it development capabilities in the 40 + years since then. You would think that Harley would invest some money to fix a bike they claim they want to sell more of . Other than that, I love this bike..

Thanks for info. i just picked up my new ultra and rode it home 4 hours away. i am 6' tall and from my eyes up i was a ping pong ball. could not hear stereo at all. i had to duck down two inches to here it. going to order this wind-vest 14 today

I have a 14" Cee Baily. I am 6ft tall 32' inseam. It is pretty good but I am intrigued by the positive feedback the Madstad is getting. I think I am about to pop for one. Good Luck.... Face

Thanks to you guys I'm about ready to pull the trigger on the wind vest. You have some picks of the 14". I'm now wondering light smoke or dark?
