Default Madstad Bracket Configuration

If you're running a Madstad, please post a picture of your bracket angle. It would also be good to state you height, and provide a little feedback on how well your "pictured" setting works for you. This might be a beneficial to anyone (including me) having trouble getting their Madstad set just right.

I'll go first....

I'm 6' tall and I don't know if I found the sweet spot or not, but I do know there is a lot less turbulence behind the bars with the Madstad vice the CVO wind splitter shield.

Nice thread. I am still tweaking mine. I am going to give it a few more adjustments this weekend and will post some pics then. There's another good thread polling peeps height, angle, etc but pictures of their configuration would be more valuable. These brackets are tricky.

My Mad Stad works so gooooooooood. I am 6 foot. Shield is a 13". If I measure the bottom it is 2 1/4" from fairing. The top is 3 1/4".
I think the bigger the gap at the bottom the more air you get between the two parts and the more updraft.
I cant believe I can look way over the shield and it works that good. The down side is the bigger bugs can hit you straight on. The smaller ones shoot straight up.
I have lowers, Sancho Wings ( highly recomend these) and the HD air deflectors.

I will try to add to this thread later this week-end. I just installed my Madstad last night and was only able to test ride a couple of miles in town due to weather. I will say that there is a noticeable difference though even with that short test ride. I posted up one picture on the other thread with measurements, but not what you are looking for here. More to follow.

Finally dilaed this sweet shield in this morning:

56 degree angle
7 inches from the top of the stereo to the top of the shield
1 1/2 inches at the bottom- about 2 fingers

I think it takes all of us a bit to hit the sweet configuration, but when we do, there's nothing that compares to this shield. Originally had 2 inches at the bottom, and was getting a lot of buffeting. Not sure if pulling it in 1/2 inch did anything, but that's where this is staying. Good luck!

BTW- 13" dark smoke shield- I am 5'10 if that helps anyone out.
