The smoke looks better than the black imo. One thing about having a fairing is you already have a blind spot and the black would make it a safety concern for me. But as far as functionality goes Im pretty sure most of us bought the road glide to tour but their sometimes has to be a fine line between look and comfort.Nice product regardless if you buy it or not.
I had the whistle when I first installed mine at speeds over 90. I installed the rubber trim on the black metal part and the whistle went away. I used silicone and tape to keep the rubber gasket in place until it was installed, then removed the tape.
