[QUOTE=ironmark;263097]Have my HD adjustable backrest for 4 years and not a problem. How can you break the backrest?

Kind of cruel of you to make me say it again ironmark but I am a fat ass. I had to wear the huskie size clothes as a kid. When fat guys lean on stuff sometimes it breaks. Now if you will excuse me the half gallon of ice cream I am having for lunch is melting.

If I remember right. I believe I ordered one in from a 2001 SERG smaller and narrower than the run of the mill HD backrests and effective.

Got a killer deal from PCPain on the HD Adjustable backrest. Placed my order today.

I wont post the price you will need to PM him, but I will say it was MUCH MUCH closer in price to the Mustang kit and made it a no brainer for me!

I don't know about the others but I would hate to do without my hd adjustable, easy to set on the fly.

Grasshopper LTD makes one for $99.00
Get a pouch for storing small stuff on the back or studs for a bit more.
Nothing fancy....just a basic backrest, but it does the trick for like a 1/3 of what the MOTOCO wants...........

Just ordered the Mustang backrest. I've read some great posts about it from you all. I understand the thought about the adjustable backrest, however I haven't adjusted my car seat in 5 years, so I really am the type of guy who leaves things the same, once I like it.

I'll past later if I like it. should be here in 5-7 days.

Thanks!!

Default Seat & Back Rest Combo

I have a '09 FLTRSE3 (39,500 miles) of which I have had various seats from Deep Sundowner, Hammock, and Mustang. Although all were comfortable for a short time, my 500-650 mile days took their tole on my back and butt. I now have a Saddleman Road Sofa with back rest and finally have more cush to the tush. And as a bonus no sore tailbone. Try it, you'll like it.

I just got the adj. HD rest (sorry PCPain, your price was awesome but I needed it now). Really comfortable but it needs to be taller in the mount for my ultra seat. For it to fold over it really pulls at the seams on the seat. The pivot point is too deep in the seat slot. Without the seat it works great or with my roadie stock seat it is good.

Wow! What a difference a backrest makes. I'm pretty happy with my Mustang backrest. It was $211 off Amazon delivered for free. I put 450 miles on yesterday and could definately take on more. I don't know why I waited so long to add it. My only complaint comes from my better half, she wants it to have a pocket for her cell, sunglasses or the like. I guess I'll to add one!

Thanks for all the good advice!

+1 on the Mustang backrest. Like that it works with the stock seat.
