ANyone use the stock harley headset?
Just broke mine out of the package, not impressed. I do not seem to get stereo sound and they sound like poop. Any alternatives that will still allow me to use the CB?

J&M Corp is best on the market but pricey. Been using for years with no issues.

Edsets are supposed to sound better than J&M and actually have decent bass. The J&M is supposed to be better quality hardware than HD but not much better sound - still very tinny.
Here's a video on the Edsets. I'll probably get these.

And their website.

My H-D stock headset works well if I jiggle the cable enough to get sound in both ears... The J&M mounting was not good on my HD branded HJC IS-33 helmet.

My stock headsets work great but there is a trick to it. You have to get them up to your ear. Most helmets let the speaker sit too deep in the ear cup. I used soft poly foam to move them out, then wrapped the Harley speaker and foam cushion with a piece of soft nylon fabric to keep it all together then press it into the ear cup in the helmet. It takes some fidgeting to get it right but you won't need to mess with them again. I've had mine adjusted this way for nine years. Before I did this they sounded like crap and you could barely hear them. Don't make them press hard on your ear or you won't be happy with glasses/sunglasses on.

I use the one that came with my ultra. I worked for an hour and gave up the go, lost sound in one speaker. I took it back to the dealer and they replaced the headset with a new one off the shelf. I did buy a second set for the wife. They work good when you get all the settings right but they are tinny with no bass. I'll run these till they no longer work and my local dealer quits replacing them. Then I'll upgrade to either the edsets or the J&M.

The stock headset is too bulky and thick for me to place it into my helmet. I tried it once for about 10 minutes and gave up due to the pain it was causing my ears. I really like the fit of the iMC head set but the wiring between the coiled connection cord and the individual speakers fails too easily to suit me. It is just very thin wire and is not durable enough to use in the real world. While they were working I really liked them but until/unless they fix that issue, I can't recommend them.

I removed the speakers from mine and just use the mic. The sound comes in from the fairing speakers.

My wife and I have used the HD headsets for a couple of multi-thousand mile trips wearing 3/4 open face helmets. While it doesn't have the same sound as my Dynaudio system it does the job on the road pretty well.
I might check out another system when we switch to full face helmets for cold weather riding, probably the J&M.
