Cool denim black is getting shiney

I did'nt notice it until my bike was on the lift at the indy's f
or service. I like to hit the twisties like a sport bike and realise my knees rub on the back of the tank next to the seat. Starting to get a shine. Oh well, might have a vivid black shark in a few years.

Yeah I know nothing about denim paint jobs but they say on my flat black helmets don't rub them too much cause they will start to shine, I'm like WTF. I like taking the manufacturer stickers off but afraid to rub it too much.

It would reason that a very fine grit maybe a 1000 or so sandpaper would take the sheen off. But check with a real painter to be sure.

This is bad advice,.. DO NOT DO THIS TO A DENIM PAINT JOB, you will totally F it up.
Nothing you can do to prevent it,. only fix is a fresh coat of paint. One of the joys of having a denim bike, they all have character because they all aquire scratches, shiney spots, and oil stains over time.

The denim paint is kind of like the King Ranch seats in my pickup. They develope their own character over time.

This isn't the HDforums,. so in the future please don't give out any advice unless you have first hand knowledge. We don't need 18 pages full of bad advice and terrible ideas that could cost a guy thousands of dollars, we'll leave that to the yuppies on the HDforums.
Not pointing a finger at you,. just letting you know how we roll in the shark tank
