Hello I just picked up a 2002 a couple of weeks ago Went to ride to the Lone Star rally today and the bike stopped charging. Tried a battery from my sportster just to see if maybe I had a bad cell in my battery. Same deal with the other battery 12.4 volts at Idle.
The stator output at 1100 rpms is 26 volts A/C tested with the regulator un-plugged probes in either of the 2 pins in the harness connector. The stator shows nothing on the ohm meter testing either pin to ground.
The regulator shows battery voltage at both pins (bleed test) Is there any other test for this?
Well I removed the regulator and the rubber seal/pad on the underside has a brown substance coming out of it. Does no look good. Going to replace it this morning.
