finally got it right .......for me.

On the windshield issue: In March I picked up a 2009 RG with a Klock werks 12" windshield. At highway speeds my glasses bounce all over the place. Making it hard to see and almost impossible to read road signs.

I am 5'6" with a 28" inseam (I know, but my feet reach the ground). So my mechanic lowered the front about 1.5 inches. Used lowering block on more the rear shock mount back. Lowered rear about 2 inches. Purchased a reach seat, lowered my butt and moved it forward between 1-2" in each direction. Bike sets greaat now. with sneakers on both feet are flat on the ground.

Still had problem with glasses bouncing all over. Purchased a 10" wind vest. Liked that it was lower and easier to see over but air was about the same in my opinion.

Purchased 13 Cee Bailey and absolutely love it. It comes to between my chin and mouth as I am riding. At highway speeds I get a pleasant breeze on my face. But my bifocals rest solidly on my nose, no bouncing. If I raise up I get significantly more air on my glasses. If I scooch down the breeze remains about the same. Guy I bought windshield from absolutely hated it, I absolutely love it. Life is strange.

I llok at manfuctorers charts for windshield and on a stock seat I should be running an 8". But with lowered seat I am running 13" i can look over it and wind is pleasant. according to charts I shouold be a foot taller!

Just my experience for what it is worth. Now that I have it figured out forcast is for snow tonight! Can't wait for spring!

Congrats on gettin there in only three trys. Please tell me your not really riding in sneakers. I know it's all about comfort, and doin what we want, but sneakers-really? Sorry it's a safety thing with me. Glad you shield is dialed in.

In March of this year when I brought the bike home there was snow on the ground and I took a picture of it then in the same spot. The other day I noticed the leaves were changing so I back the bike out of the garage and parked it in the same spot and took another picture. Then I did ride back into the garage with the sneakers on. But I wanted to get the picture before the leaves were gone. That night we had a big wind storm and the next morning they were gone. So my timing on the picture was good.
