Can anyone tell me if their is a performance gain between stock touring and CVO touring mufflers? I know they look different, but do they really sound any different or do the CVO's give you any more power?

I just removed my CVO mufflers as they were way too quiet. I beleieve they are equally or more restrictive than other stock mufflers to make up for the high flow air cleaner on these bikes. When removed and looking inside it looks like a small 1/8th X slot in about an inch diameter in the middle of the pipe. You cannot see daylight at all thru the muffer. Also they had heat shields on them like the headers. I imagine the Moco did this because they knew they would yellow. Im positive they will not give you any more power, dont be conned into buying a set.

dont not buy a set if the price is good. sure, they are quiet, quitter even so than stock. but, the baffles can be removed and replaced with fullsac baffles that are made specifically for these pipes.
I have them on my 12 fltrx...very restrictive. I pulled the baffels and replaced with Fullsac 2" power cores. Deeper sound, mildly louder, cant tell any difference in power...I like the looks and the sound with tbe Fullsacs so i am happy.

another one for the CVO with the 2,0 fullsac baffles nice sound at idle and around town cruisin but bark when you get on it high flow air cleaner and a tune you wont be disappointed

Just did this whole exact swap this week. I put on a set of cobra powerport head pipes and put them on with the stock mufflers. I then put the cvo mufflers on and they sounded a hair louder and the bike felt a hair faster after i downloaded a tune to the pc-v. i then ordered a set of mufflers from a 2007 cvo and took the 2012 cvo mufflers off (same mufflers as the 12 and 13 by the way) and i punched out the entire guts on the 2007 mufflers and put the 2012 end caps on, downloaded a tune, and am riding the bike like that as we speak. they are loud and deep with the guts removed but I love it. got a little pop out of it on decel but I have a few maps im gonna play with before i put the autotune on. hope this helps. oh yeah, the bike also has a se heavy breather intake on it too.

2012 RGC...Stage I? DONE!! Cams? DONE!!! Heard someone ask what kind of helicopter was that flying around. He thought it was a Huey...he then found out that was my bike sitting around the side of the building at idle!!...True story...
FLTRUSE new in 2011. First thing I did after 1K service was replace the A/C with S&S tuned induction and slip-on with V&H Monster Ovals. Huge difference in performance. S/E pipes not worth it unless you plan on gutting them and putting aftermarket baffles in them. Gave my take offs away.
