Had both, Kuryakyn are softer. The Avons look like they would be but are not soft. The Avons also feel bigger. I like the look of both.

Avon came out with the velvet ones this year but I am not sure how they feel.

I've have the avons air cushion and have had the Kury's ISO grips. I think they are both good and feel great. I now prefer the look of the Avon and their end caps as they match my exhaust, but one thing I found out about Avon after talking to the owner of the company at the Lone Star Rally this past weekend is the rubber has a lifetime warranty and it starts to wear out or gets damaged they will replace at no cost to you.

Oh, I have the Knurled Avon grips not the velvet ones and the Kury's were they smooth too.

I think if you're planning on going with these, have your dealer install them. Maybe that way, if/when they take a crap, they can't say you screwed em up puttin em on.

Because of this I'm giving serious consideration to the Heat Demon's grip warmers.
I'm thinkin if I'm gonna do those, I'll replace the stock grips with something I like more, like the Aleron grips and as long as I have the fairing off for the wiring, I'd go ahead and put the oil temp gauge in place of the air temp gauge.

Had a conversation about heated grips with someone who works at HD. Off the record, he did not recomend them. They can fail after a couple of years. Also, your palm will be warm, but the top of your hand won't. That is for heated grips in general. He recommended heated gloves instead. Made sense to me. Will pickup some heated gloves.
