I rode that road a couple of years ago. You're right, great ride, not much traffic and very enjoyable.

Its mostly shaded, very little traffic and a variety of curves and elevation changes, this is truly a gem of a ride!

Just found this road at the beginning of November and wanted to share it with other riders. Here are the local directions to it: From intersection of U.S. Hwy-64 West and U.S. Hwy-23/441 North in Franklin take Hwy-64 West towards Murphy, NC for 3.8 miles to "Old Murphy Rd.(SR 1448) on your Right (Wayah Bald sign). After you take the exit, continue down the hill for just under 0.2 miles to Wayah Road (SR 1310) on your Left ("Loafers Glory" gas station will be at the intersection of Old Murphy Rd. and Wayah Rd, so you'll know where to turn). Great ride to put on the list if you are in the area.

Glad you enjoy it though.
Tells us what your REALLY feel, mark. (sorry mike)

sight seeing (more than 1.3, +/- .1, sconds) is for when yer stopped or in da cage.

Default Tail of the Dragon (Hype?)

Hwy 129 Deal Gap Riding North

Riding South on Hwy 129 Deals Gap

Personally, I feel the Tail of the Dragon is more hype than anything else. Several roads that are more fun, as in switch backs and tight curves in the area, both sides of the TN/NC line.
