it always made me wonder why my tour-pak liner has the indentations where the light would be if it was an EG.I thought maybe that was the only tour-pak liner they made.
Now I see they'll sell you the tour-pak liner without the relief for the taillight.
part # 53302-07. Is this a for sure fit? I don't plan to add a taillight cause I like the clean look of the Tour-pak without it.
Did they really Use the wrong one from the factory just so they could sell you one more thing?

My guess is your right, they just made 1 mold and that was it. I have a TP w/o lights and a liner with the spaces for them but never have really felt like they were taking up to much space. Like many things with the MOCO it takes them a while to learn.

that's what I thought at first..but,the part # for the one I have is -06,the one without the reliefs is -07.. so those have been around awhile.

I work at GM and we use commonized parts for several things. They apparently use a commonized liner. It saves money on inventory, space and assembly costs to give less options to the line worker, ie less mistakes. For instance, the usb cable is in the IP harness whether or not the radio has the capability. cheaper to give em away than stock all the different hanesses with cable and then without.
the size of the liner would take up alot of floorspace to stock the line with both.
Just my thoughts on the matter. My 11 has the lighted tp liner too.
