This was talked about on another forum so I am not the one that thought this up.
I have the bearing puller/installer tool & the gear locking tool. So the idea that was suggested was to rent these tools out to forum members so they wouldn't have to buy them too if they didn't want to. All we need to do is figure out a fair way to do this and then I would be willing to rent my tools out.
So would anyone be interested first?
I am interested! Just talked to Frank and will be doing cams sometime in early December. I would be interested in renting it rather than buying it and having it sit for years before I purchase another bike.

The idea of renting tools is a great one. Or even another idea. Create a tool section of the forum. Put yours up for sale for slightly less than you paid say 5 dollars. Next person buys them- uses them- then relists them for sale. Next person that needs them does same thing.
If everybody takes say 5 bucks off the price everytime they resell before long they will be real cheap. I would suggest bottoming out the price at 50%.
They could float around the forum for years. And if they came up missing, you would only of lost 5 bucks, and you still would of had you cams changed?
This would make it easy on the person who bought the tools in the first place.

I don't use a lock tool, just never needed it. Low torque on those cam and pinion bolts, all you need is a 3/8" air ratchet or breaker bar to get them off (brake locked in gear) and a torque wrench going back.
Besides what has been mentioned and a good set of hand tools..
Get a GOOD torque wrench
Get a crows feet box end 7/16" to torque the rocker box bolts
Make a gizmo to hold the pushrod tubes up when adjusting them with a paper clip and rubber band
Magnets for the lifters are needed
Depending on the grind of cam and motorcycle year and model the tool to clearance the case may be needed
Go on ebay and type in "Rent Harley Cam Tools". You can get them for a few days for $70 or so - everything you need to do the install. That is what I'll do if/when I decide to do the cams on my current bike. Did it on my last one. Just can't see spending big bucks on tools that I'll only need once every so many years.
That ebay search gave me no results but google came up with a 30$ rental from www.johnsonenginetechnology.com. looks like a pretty good deal. Thoughts?

A couple of suggertions. Take some pics of the process so everyone can see and while your in there why not install Harleys SE Camplate and HV oil pump?.
I recently opened mine up and installed Feulings Camplate and HV oil pump along with Zippers duel piston camchain tensioners. I like it however, there is a less expensive way to go and that is use Harleys part# 25282-11 for $429.00. Hey, your in there, right?
