Veteran's Day
Veteran's Day is Monday. Make a difference and say...... Thank You to a Vet. If it wasn't for the Vets, We wouldnt be able to have this Country and Our freedom. Although the US has its issues, Its still the very Best Place
in the World.
So I will be the First To Say it here this year......... Thank You to Our Veterans on Our forum for all you done,Combat or not, because it took all of you, to make this Country the home of the FREE!

I agree, and I'm going to get my DD214 and go to Applebees for a free meal.

The group that I ride with is doing an event here in town Sat.
for Vets suffering from PTSD, then we will head to Key West
to ride in their Veterans Day parade on Sunday, then we will
head back to Jax to ride in our parade.
Gonna be a long weekend.

Actually Veteran's Day is Sunday. It's always on the 11th of November. Originally called "Armistice Day" because of the signing of the armistice to end WWI. The cessation of hostilities between the Krauts and the Allies were signed on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, in 1918.

Being a National Holiday, this year Veteran's day is being observed on Monday the 12th so that all the gubmitt employees can have a day off of work. This AF Vet will be pounding the ramp at the Austin Airport on Monday, loading planes like I do any other day.

I'm going to Laughlin Sunday. Harrah's comped Sunday night. I will take some of Route 66 and have a nice ride.
The Tropicana Express has a Veteran's Day "Pig Roast" from 3-7PM on Sunday. Harrah's has a free Buffet for Vets.
They say just show VA card, DD214, Military ID, or a membership card from VFW type organization.
I always have my VA card. Free room, free food and a great ride. Can't beat it with a stick.

Thanks for starting this thread. Thank you to all the veterans on the forum for your service and sacrifice. Keep all those currently serving in our prayers (including my Son whom I'm very proud of).
