Even if you say no one Flashes you odds are you are still blinding oncoming traffic unless you have your lights pointed abnormally low.
Projectors create clean cut offs and glare caps prevent the eye from directly seeing the plasma arc. It is common to use OEM projectors, bulbs and ballasts from Japanese and European cars which have a DOT approval to retrofit and use in other vehicles. Does that make it legal, no, but how the hell else are you going to put HIDs and an appropriate projector in a car that does not offer them? Bottom line: DOT is bullsh*t and HID mods can be done safely without some asinine sticker.

Xardoz, what made you go with the 50/55's rather than the ultra slim HID kit?

Hi DMize
That setup looks real nice and with lifetime warranty are great. It is not a big investment so they can be change if you do not like them. Lets us know how they look and maybe a picture before and after. Better than $700 and no replacement possibilities

I had HID's installed soon after we purchased the RGC. The light is fantastic. Without projectors built for them, the lights kind of lit up the world, rather than being focused out on the road ahead. Different than what I was used to, not distracting - and great light.

I bought the LED's when they came out and have been happy with them. They are very bright, but seem more focused down the road. There is a flat cutoff that takes some getting used to. I notice it mostly when leaning into a corner at speed.

I don't regret the decision to go LED - but the HID's were a cost effective solution that worked perfectly.
