Been a member of the Legion for a little over a year. Became a Legion Rider this past Spring since I moved 2 hours away from home. Thought it'd be a good way to make some new riding buddies, and it has. Post 283 in Ohio.

I've been a Legion (Post 6 in Deland, FL), VFW (Hattiesburg, MS post) and FRA member for many years. Not a Legion rider though as there is no post close to me. Being a member does come in handy on long trips though especially in dry cities/counties.

I'm a member of the Legion but already associated with another riding org.
For us, benefits are obviously hanging out with other Vets plus (at my post anyway) good chow and "cold drinks" at less expensive rates and finally, plenty of new way-points to visit during rides too.

VFW member too, spent 17 of my 19 years overseas and never thought about the American Legion. Maybe after my retirement in 2017...
