I got lucky, I think? ??
Well I was driving down the ##### this afternoon. Anyway the speed limit is 50mph. I usually take my radar detector with me, but today the weather was 80 degrees and the battery was dead on the radar detector.
So after driving for about 30 minutes I ended up behind a new #####. After spending about 10 minutes behind this cage doing 45 MPH, I decided to pass him.
Of course as I pass, I see 2 cars coming around the corner ahead of me. Of course one of them was a LEO. No danger, but I may have been going faster than permitted .
Anyway, I thought for sure he had me!
As he turned around and turned on his lights, I got ready to pull over on the grass. To my amazement he pulled the car over.
Question : is it possible that his radar didn't read my bike because of the plastic fairing -and the radar saw the car by mistake? ?
Needless to say, I got out of there like a bat out of hell and took the first turn off
I remember Some LEOs on here that were testing the RG with their radars and they were getting some weird results. Just wondering if this was one of those occurrences? ???

more likely the officer did not see you. your speed was on the radar and the cage got your ticket. believe me rg's are not stealth to radar, but they can be invisible to anyone in a cage.

I can atest to the fact that our RGs arent stealth. The first year i had the bike i got caught doing 48 in a 25 zone by radar. That wasnt a cheap ticket by the way. I think in this case you definately werent visually seen by the LEO. Whatever the case my be, you didnt get the ticket that im sure was meant for you. Now if you can teach me how you did it that would be great

I feel really bad for the cage driver.
I can imagine him trying to explain it to the LEO. I need to edit my post

A radar gun will only tell the officer the speed of the fastest moving object whether that be a Cadi, a RG, or a pebble blown by the wind. Sometimes if there is more than one vehicle to choose from, the officer will take the path of least resistance and go after the last in line. I'd say you got off lucky.

I usually pass pretty close to the cage. Wonder if it read us as one object?

I've got some of those left lane cruzers pulled over flying by them in the right hand lane.

I was always under the impression the radar picked up the speed of the largest object? not sure about it,but could an LEO weigh in on the subject?
