The Ultra is tempting me

Here is what I did. I was going to buy a rgc hands down had it picked out color and all with the custom look I was going for and all. My wife never rode so that's y I was going for a custom.well the day I went to buy it wife drove me there waiting for the sales man I said what is the hype about this ultra everyone talks about well at the same time the wife decides to sit on a ultra with me and her words were if u buy this I will ride I feel more comfortable on this. It was because of the tour pack speakers on her side she felt stable. Well I start no way u will never go and I will be stuck will this big boat. The sales man come and goes are u ready I said yes and he starts with if u will do 2 up ur better with a ultra the the rgc it's cheaper to take stuff off than to add on. Price was not that much more to forget it. Well first weekend I had the bike the wife and I put 550 miles and she rode until we had our baby girl. She rides here and there now less because of the baby but now I figured that I will turn my ultra into a rgc when riding solo. Between rear lower shocks,detach tour pack and lowers it will be about 1k. If I had gotten the RGU to add the all that stuff it would double maybe more. So go with the ultra. But again you won't go wrong either way

Love my RGC two years later.....I did the same however, adding the tourpak and lowers. No regret here

But just an FYI: You can fit 30 beers into the saddlbag of a RK. Should be close to that with hard bags. LOL

Been there with the beers in my saddle bag...

Love the RGU. I take it everywhere, short runs long runs. I was going from a Muscle to a RGU.

I got use to the trunk on other bikes and know I won't remove it. Also liked the extra space for speakers besides saddle bags and lowers. I also liked the paint job..

Did you ever make a decision on what you were getting?

Still up in the air. The Ultra is on hold for me until I decide and the Custom is due to ship on Wednesday. I keep on going back and forth. But the bigger part of me still gravitates to the Custom. It is my inner child and love for all things sporty and hot rod me thinks. Thinking I may just go ahead and utilize my at purchase discount and order a Chopped Tour Pak and be done with it.

Thanks!!! Feel so much better now. I have a ton more energy than I did a year ago. I was also having hip and knee problems and diagnosed with sleep apnea. All are gone. Healthy as a horse now.
