Torque wrench

I know it's been asked and answered but I can find neither with the search engine. Where can I find the most reasonable and accurate in/lb torque wrench? Thanks

The stuff at harbor freight works just fine. I've never had s problem with anything I've purchased there.

For as little as I use a torque wrench I went with ones from harbor freight. Work just fine. Got a 3/8" and 1/4" for less than a big brand 3/8". They have a lifetime warranty too. Had a Craftsman 3/8" and it failed a little after the warranty was up.

You might want to check again. Craftsman Torque Wrenches only have a one year warranty. Except the beam torque wrenches.

Harbor Freight has three sizes (1/4", 3/8" and 1/2"). There is a coupon floating around to get the each for $9.99. Can't beat that.

I've abused it for over 25 years and it still works fine, I did not know this.

Yup but if you are using it for that long it owes you nothing if it were to break today.

I just did some checking around and the Kobalt torque wrenches from Lowes state a lifetime warranty on the box but 1 year in the documentation. Guess it would be best to hold on to the box so there is no argument. Husky from Home Depot have a limited lifetime warranty.

If youre only using it once and awhile to service the scoot then any one mentioned before will do just fine. Find one with the price you like and go for it. If you plan on using one pretty much all the time get one from a tool supplier like a snap-on or other company. They can handle the abuse better but youll pay dearly for it and they are warrantied. At the shop i have a couple big name ones that have been in service for several years without issue. Proper care is the main thing. Return the torque setting back to zero when not in use on any one you choose.

in every Bagger or American Iron magazine there is a full page of Harber Freight coupons. The torque wrenches are there every time. The 1/2, 3/8 and 1/2 clicker torque wrenches are always $9.99 with coupon. They seem to work just fine but I have never checked them as to accuracy.
